Non-profit work was some of the most awful work experience I’ve ever had. Suffer, while paying you nothing, and doing none of the actual things the agency claims to care about. I’m glad you decided to leave.
Thanks for writing this, Flint. This is such a complicated job to try to explain to people. I'm usually so grateful to be behind the camera, to be a part of the story telling and creating and not the direct subject, but that can really fuck with you too - to be so invested and kind of invisible...
I definitely have a hard time explaining to people why I left healthcare to work with an influencer. It really is just an amplification of what I was already doing, a more effective use of my particular skill sets, but it's also largely unnoticed work and I have to watch as someone I care about bears the weight of the public eye.
I think you are still a teacher- it’s who you are, you just have a bigger classroom now. Thank you for being so brave and sharing your journey 🏳️⚧️
You are a modern knight in shining armor, Flint!

Not your Wisconsin cousin, Justine, but an individual from Wisconsin who reads each post and is interested and thankful for what you share.
Life and it’s paths are amazing! Its words, but i see the word” entrepreneur “ or small business instead of influencer….
